Can we overcome our past?
Katie Parker is about to get a new life—whether she wants one or not. With her mom in prison, and her father AWOL, Katie is sent to live with a squeaky-clean family who could have their own sitcom. She launches a full-scale plan to get sent back to the girls’ home when she finds herself in over her head...and heart. When Katie and her new "wrong crowd" get into significant trouble at school, she finds her punishment is restoring a historic theater with a crazy grandma who goes by the name of Mad Maxine. In the midst of her punishment, Katie uncovers family secrets that run deep, and realizes she's not the only one with a pain-filled past. Katie must decide if she'll continue her own family’s messed up legacy or embrace a new beginning in this place called In Between.

  • Attention grabbing Book!

The story was amazing and had my attention 100% Sadly I found a lot of errors in the book, the author at times forgot which character was in the scene and often used the wrong characters name. Other than that I would give this book 5 stars. I finished this book in just a handful of days and it was so hard to put it down! This one is a keeper and I will be re-reading it over and over!

I loved the humor and the real life issues of what a troubled youth may feel and go through. It was a wonderful ending with a godly message.
  • Confused

    By Great super duper book!!!
I am so lost after reading the summary. I had no idea what was going on

First time reading this author. Not really my type of book, not one suited for adults. It’s more a book for young teenagers but that wasn’t what I got from the reviews. Sweet and faith based is how I would describe it.
  • Delightful!

Funny and witty and not a hint of “trash mouth”. Just goes to show great writing can be accomplished without profanity. The characters are so believable! The storyline flows seamlessly from chapter to chapter. The ending was perfect... but I enjoyed the book so much, it was a shame to see it end. Best of all is the budding of faith that transforms Katie into understanding herself. Simply delightful.
  • Witty & Sweet

This comes off as an easy read, but it’s laced with witty quips & carries a deeper message. I really enjoyed the characters & had a hard time putting it down.

I don’t usually read this type of novel, I read suspense and mystery. But this fell in my free books, so I thought I would give it a try. Ended up quite taken with the story and Katie Parker. I will read more of your writings for I throughly like the style.

Loved this book! ‘Katie’s’ sassand wit along with ‘Maxine’s’ crazy shenanigans had me literally laughing out loud! This is the first Jenny B Jones book for me, but rest assured, it won’t be the last!
