The Billionaire's Hired Girlfriend is a new adult contemporary romance with an alpha male hero and a geeky, virgin heroine. They are flawed, funny, passionate, and very relatable for readers who enjoy contemporary romance and women’s fiction with strong family value.

Alexandra Stewart is dating the man of her dreams. But there’s a catch. The date is a masquerade and her Mr. Hot-Choc is gay, or so she thinks...

Family oriented Alexandra Stewart, known as Alex to family and friends, is in desperate need of money for her dad’s heart surgery. She is stoked when gorgeous, billionaire Jayden McCartney unexpectedly barges into her life and offers to help. On one condition. She must pretend to be his girlfriend. One look at Jay tells her to run in the opposite direction. He is too good-looking, too successful, and too rich for her liking. When she is told Jay is gay and that his family is matchmaking him with a woman he doesn’t love, she feels sorry for him. Thinking that she’d kill two birds with one stone, Alex agrees to the proposal. Now, the only problem is how does she prevent herself from falling madly in love with Jay when the way he looks at her makes her heart tremble and his touches set her body on fire?

Hot, recently single billionaire Jayden McCartney has to bring his girlfriend to his sister’s wedding in order to stop the matchmaking his grandmother has planned for him. Not in the mood for dating or a new woman after the discovery of his cheating ex, he hires a perfect candidate as his girlfriend in Alexandra Stewart. Alex, however, thinks he’s crazy. It’s only when he commits a sinful lie that would damage his manhood severely does she agree to help. He convinces her that he is gay and that the possibility of his family finding out would ruin them financially and socially. Now, Jay has to pretend to be batting for the other team, which turns out to be no easy task where the geeky turn sexy Alex is concerned because he wants her, and what Jay wants, he certainly will get.

  • Fun but needs improvement

I liked this book... to an extent. A fun and quick read, this book kept me engaged. The author didn’t ramble on needlessly just to fill pages. I think she did a superb job at creating conflict for the characters, but the relationship building fell short. Alex is a very juvenile character and I found myself wondering if she was over the age of twelve more than once. Alex’s relationship with Jay progressed in a juvenile manner as well with no real depth which disappointed me. The writer uses a limited vocabulary, which lends to the juvenile feel of this book. The intimate scenes were uncomfortable at best due to the childlike personality of the main character, and the naivety of the writer showed through clearly. The author stereotyped most of the characters in ways that were ignorant, and American characters used speech that is typical of New Zealanders and not Americans. I’d love to read something written by this woman after she experiences a little ,ore of life and other cultures.

    Nice book to read.
  • New scenery at last!

Really loved reading about parts of New Zealand in this book instead of the same old locations, made this book much more fun! Now want to learn more and maybe visit. Was disappointed by so many word and grammar errors. I’m not a teacher but after awhile it was really bad, needs better proof reading.
  • It was okay...

I lived the story line, but the way it was written was not appealing at all. I hated the switching of people’s thoughts all over the place, and it just felt like it could be have been better written.
  • Good but could be better

I liked the book but it felt a bit rushed by the end. The beginning had so much imagery but then the second half of the book sort of went they’re here and now there and now somewhere else. There weren’t as many details to help the reader follow along with the characters.

Picked up the book by chance because the summary sold it to me but it was a complete let down. The writing is very juvenile. Something I would've read and adored when I was in middle school but not as a grown adult. There's no depth to the characters. At times it seems like the author tries to develop Jay and Alex but quits and then it just falls flat. Also lack of understanding of American norm, culture, and figures of speech.
