Fall in love with the boy next door in this sweet romance by USA Today Best Selling Author, Jillian Dodd.

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.

There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for.

Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth. Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me.  And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is that boy.

  • Definitely YOUNG adult

I have to admit, the storyline was cute, but I felt it was quite butchered. What with Jay’s relationships with the two boys seemed so odd with her so suddenly being with Danny, and then right on to Phillip and still unsure? So much of it was just so unrealistic, and yes, I know that this is fiction, but I just felt like I couldn’t relate to any of this. The tragic scene with Jay’s parents (trying not to spoil) was just so unrealistic as well. The way she reacted to everything was so not right. Maybe if I were 12 or 13 I’d enjoy this more? Jay’s life was just so unrealistic and seemed so immature for her age. Probably wouldn’t recommend this book.
  • $10?!?!

Don’t pay $10 for each of the books in this series. Wait until it gets to half price books and you can buy it for $2.
  • Not a book

    By Great super duper book!!!
This was a diary/journal log, not a book classification. The book was so very very long and slow paced. I was bored to death! The summary wasn’t very eye capturing and the book was terrible.
  • Just okay

I didn’t like the way the book was written in the style of her rambling thoughts and some of it was really drug out. I did read all of it though because I wanted to know how it ended. I don’t think I can manage to get through any of the sequels though.
  • Love, love, love

I still kind of wish her and Danny would’ve ended up together but I love her with Phillip!!
  • What. Excuse me? You took my heart.

So I loved the book. I liked how it started out from the perspective of a little child because the story started from there. But the book f me over with the romance with Danny. Danny was her first everything. And then I’m just supposed to go with the Phillip relationship.. I was shipping Danny so much. I was just disappointed she and Danny didn’t end up together because who cares if they were too similar. They got each other. Worked with each other. But I suppose I get what the author did. All in all. Book started kinda slow. But it needed to be to tell the story. Made me get super attach to Danny as you can see... I’m heartbroken. Lol good job
  • An array of emotions

Different writing style but it’s nicely done and works for this type of story. I had my reservations at first but I thoroughly enjoyed this coming of age story of different kinds of forever loves. I laughed, cried and sighed with Jay on her journey - which may not be very far from some of ours. Enjoy!

Short answer: I was really surprised at how genuine and real it turned out, I really recommend this book to teens for light romantic but substanceful reading 😊 Long answer for those interested -- So I read the description, and it sounded like it was gonna be a really cool and romantic teen pop book (it helps that it's free😁). So I started reading, and got a little discouraged from finishing cuz it looked like it was gonna turn out to be one of those "perfect teen life" books that probably nobody actually lives cuz parents are way more strict in real life. But i have nothing else to do so I kept reading anyways. And I have to say I'm really thankful I did, because it turns out to be a really depthful and genuine and just really emotional. So if you're like me and have strict parents and know you'll never live a life like what's in this book, please just sit tight and keep reading because I promise it gets really deep and real. Unfortunately it's because something tragic happens, but I aint gonna spoil it for ya 😉 I hope this helps you, and happy reading!
